Towards active ageing in an inclusive community.
About the Agenda
Worldwide, the average life expectancy at birth is 70 years for both males and females. In low and middle-income countries, this increase in life expectancy is largely the result of a reduction in childhood mortality rates, and further, a reduction in fatalities resulting from infectious diseases.
As these underlying demographic trends are largely predictable and have profound implications for each of us, as well as for the society we live in, we can plan to make the most of it. Thus, there is a need to promote innovation in order to provide insights and data to guide decision-making by formulating cohesive strategies, programmes, and policies to cater to the needs of older adults.
This Collaborative Transformation agenda will thus focus on the following areas:
- Social & Economic Resources
- Ageing Environment
- Healthy Ageing
